Verbier Festival (18 July – 4 August 2024)
This two week festival is, without doubt, the highlight of Verbier’s summer events calendar. Although it attracts star performers such as Martha Argerich, Bryn Terfel, Julian Lloyd Webber and Anoushka Shankar it is also an opportunity to see rising talent. The Academy offers master classes taught by international stars as well as a broad range of workshops. Whether you prefer open air concerts or intimate recitals, the festival has something for every classical music lover.
Cycling Events
The UCI (the cycling governing body) headquarters are based just an hour away in Aigle. As a result, cycling events often take place in and around Verbier. Additionally world tour races such as the Tour de Romandie and Tour de Suisse are regularly staged in Verbier.
E-Bike Festival (15-18 August 2024)
The Alps are the perfect setting to try out an E-Bike for the first time. Unsurprisingly, therefore, the E-Bike Festival is becoming an important fixture in Verbier. Events include:
- The world’s largest e-bike test
- Discovery trails
- Challenges and races for all ages and levels
- Rando Gourmande
- E-Tour du Mont Blanc
- The Bosch E-MTB Challenge
Grand Raid BCVs (23-24 August 2024)
This Swiss mountain bike race has been thrilling bikers since 1990. This marathon will take you from Verbier to Grimentz, culminating in the Pas de Lona, at over 2,700m. There is also an e-bike category!
Tour des Stations (31 August 2024)
This cycling event is for those seeking a sporting endurance challenge. The routes start in Le Chable and end at the summit of Croix-de-Coeur, linking exceptional Swiss resorts along the way; offering breath taking backdrops. Entrants can choose between 6 routes (varying from 74km to up to 1,000km with 26,000m elevation gain), challenging everyone from the less experienced to the cycling enthusiasts.
Solaris Music Festival (28-30 June 2024)
A little brother to the hugely popular winter music festival. This series of weekend events features electronic music artists and DJs. And all with beautiful views from Chalet d’Adrien.
Swiss National Day (1 August)
1 August is Swiss National Day. Verbier celebrates this national holiday with a concert and fireworks. Children carrying lighted paper lanterns roam the streets at night. And bakers produce special bread rolls with a small Swiss flag on top.
Inspire Yoga Festival (10-11 August 2024)
A weekend of yoga, music, dance and self-discovery in nature. The Festival offers participants of all levels the opportunity to explore classes, workshops and holistic therapies, meet new people and share experiences immersed in the beautiful Swiss Alps.
Spartan (24-25 August 2024)
Choose between 5k, 10k or 21k and with up to 30 obstacles (or a 1-3k for children), this endurance race can take between 1 hour 30mins to 5 hours for the beast race (21k). Spartan is all about pushing your limits. A challenge and amazing experince for all competitors and great fun for the supporters!
Rocklette Music and Cheese Festival (3-8 August 2024)
This series of rock concerts takes place in the middle of August. Venues are in various mountain locations around Verbier and the Val de Bagnes.
Electroclette Music and Cheese Festival (17-18 August 2024)
Electronic music meets raclette! A weekend of cheese, techno headliners and a dancefloor with views of the Grand Combin.
Omega European Masters Golf (5 – 8 September 2024)
The Crans-sur-Sierre golf club is without doubt the most spectacular course on the European Tour schedule. Overlooking the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc, the views are breathtaking. Although the club hibernates during the winter months, it comes alive in the summer. Most notably, at the end of August it hosts the Omega European Masters. You can get the train from Le Chable, Verbier to Sierre in just over an hour, from Sierre it’s a short bus journey up to Crans-Montana. Alternatively, you can hire a car or we can organise a transfer for you, which will take 1 hour 15 mins.
Bagnes Raclette Cheese Festival (21-22 September 2024)
Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, held in September this event attracts over 15,000 foodies to the village of Le Châble. As well as cheese and raclette from local dairies, visitors are invited to sample other local produce such as meat and wine.
