We’ve waved goodbye to our final guests. The snow is slowly melting while the town mellows and all the shops and restaurants catch their breath after a bustling six months. So, as we prepare for the approaching summer season, we are looking back on our winter highs and what a season it has been!

We were welcomed at the beginning of December by a huge dump of snow which caused great excitement for our staff during training. While the hosts prepared the chalets, our returning Head Driver, Phil, ensured the vans were polished by the driving team and made ready for the first ski school drop off. Our newly appointed Head Chef, Calum, rejoined for his fourth season with SVE, lending his advice and skill to our incredible chefs as they perfected their canapes and curated their menus.  New to the team this year, we welcomed our Managing Director, Stephen, based in the UK office, whilst the resort team were joined by Ruaridh, General Manager, and Rachel, returned for her fourth season with us, as the new Resort Manager. With such expertise and experience joining the team, we were confident that the 22/23 season would be a success!

Before we knew it, Christmas trees were going up, turkeys were being delivered and presents were being wrapped ready for our Christmas guests.  All our guests who were staying at this special time enjoyed the usual warming festive atmosphere in our chalets. Verbier was back to its usual energising self for New Year’s Eve; bubbles were popped (and sprayed!) and the town was vibrant until the early hours of the morning.

Moving into January, the quieter pistes were cherished but we continued to provide our usual luxury level of service. When February arrived, Spring came briefly too – a treat for our half-term parents, some of whose children were skiing for the first time.
Our concierge team had booked ski school and nannies well in advance to ensure parents could take a break and relax. March had the perfect mix of sunshine and snowfall; a skier’s dream and ideal conditions to explore the 4 Vallees. As often happens in the Alps, April brought with it more snowfall so our guests were able to enjoy skiing as well as barbecues on the chalet terraces in addition to joyful Easter egg hunts prepared by our chalet teams.

Looking back on our winter highs, we were thrilled to see through guest feedback that the finer details of our service were truly appreciated. Striving as we do for perfection this is always really gratifying and why so many of guests come back year after year.
