Staying in a Luxury Ski Chalet: A Day in the Life
‘Waking up from my sumptuous slumber and drawing back the curtains to a snow filled mountain view – what better way is there than to start a day in a stunning Verbier Exclusive mountain chalet. Putting on my slippers, I head downstairs to the smell of freshly baked pastries and coffee where I am greeted by the fabulous chalet host and chef who offer me a choice of cooked breakfast allowing me to have my eggs in any way, shape and form I like! Fuelled up for the day, I return to my room to change and ready myself for the day ahead.
Heading down into the boot room, I am presented with a basket of snacks and mini sun creams to fill my pockets and the amazing staff help fasten my boots and ensure I have all I need before I head to the lifts. Having phoned the very handy 24/7 driver service just 5 minutes earlier, they have already loaded my skis into the Mercedes-Benz Viano and are ready to go!
After a fantastic morning skiing, I am lucky enough to enjoy lunch at a fabulous mountain restaurant that my personal concierge manager recommended to me. Basking in the sun on the terrace and taking in the panoramic views set me up well for a few more ski runs before I stopped for some Après-ski drinks in front of the live DJ at Le Rouge.
Another quick phone call to the driver team and I am picked up and whisked back to the chalet where I am met with a homemade cake, freshly brewed tea and chilled Champagne. This is followed by a dip in the pool and some relaxation in the sauna.
As we lounge around the roaring open fire sharing stories from our day on the slopes with my family and friends, our host is on hand to serve us drinks and canapes whilst the amazing aromas from the kitchen tease us for what’s about to come. Soon enough we sit around the beautifully laid table and tuck into an exquisite 4 course menu specially designed for us, based on our preferences and requirements that were discussed before the holiday – directly with the chef, I might add!
It’s time to turn in so I crawl upstairs to my ambient bedroom that has been turned down for the night, with the lights dimmed, the duvet pulled back inviting me in to prepare myself to do it all over again tomorrow!’
