Izzy has spent the majority of her adult life in the ski industry; from working as a host in chalets across France and Switzerland to selling luxury ski holidays across Europe.
In 2020, Izzy decided to travel Australia, but it wasn’t long before she realised how much she craved the snow and she joined Ski Verbier Exclusive to manage Chalet Milou in 2021. A season with SVE gave her the perfect opportunity to familiarise herself with all of our chalets so she knows exactly which of our properties will be the best fit for your ski holiday. As an enthusiastic skier from the age of 4, she made the most of her spare time during the season by exploring the ski area and would be delighted to share her top tips for the best runs in resort.
Favourite Chalet?
Chalet Milou has two lovely living areas which makes great socialising spaces for both the adults and the children. It is also super close to the ski slope so you can make the most out of your ski time!
Favourite place to ski?
For experienced skiers, the L’Eteygeon itinerary run above Thyon certainly gets the thighs burning but with a lovely local couple serving traditional Swiss raclette at the bottom, it’s well worth it!
Favourite mountain restaurant?
Cabane Mont Fort is in the perfect spot on a sunny day with its extensive panoramic views. Access to this restaurant is via the red run from the top of Col des Gentianes gondola and once you have refuelled with either pasta, soup, salad or even fondue whilst enjoying the impressive views, you can continue the run down to La Chaux.
Favourite restaurant in town?
Le Crock No Name is just a few minutes’ walk from Place Central and is well known for the live DJ sets. But with an impressive wine list and serving fantastic cocktails, Le Crock is a great place to enjoy a lighter tapas meal. Order lots of smaller plates for the table and try the selection of local and international dishes.
Favourite après ski spot?
For an on-piste après bar, Chalet Carlsberg is a great stop off on the way back to your chalet. Situated on the Attelas piste, this après bar has a lovely outdoor terrace with beautiful views and you can even catch a gorgeous sunset whilst sipping on your beer!
Favourite non skiing activity?
Parapenting is definitely one for the bucket list! The views of the town from above and flying past the mountain peaks certainly gets your adrenaline going!
Summer or Winter?
For me, it has to be the winter! The town is beautiful with all of the Christmas lights and the snow topped trees are magical. There are so many activities to try and I love the buzz in the town centre.
Top Tip
Always check the chalet iPad for the weather forecast to make sure you are taking the correct goggle lens – if it’s a white out, head for the tree-lined runs!
