As Ruaridh (‘Rory’ in Scottish) embarks on his 10th year in the Alps, it’s no surprise he has chosen to return to Verbier, the best ski resort in the world! After running ski chalets and hotels across France, Italy and Switzerland, we’re delighted that Ruaridh has chosen Verbier as his home and we are excited to welcome him and his family into our SVE team. With 4 winters in Verbier already under his belt, Ruaridh is no stranger to the resort and brings vast ski industry expertise and knowledge to our resort team. As an avid skier and keen sportsman, Ruaridh will be exploring Verbier’s world famous off-piste terrain and is happy to share tips on best places to ski in resort and the safety equipment you’ll need.
Prior to starting with SVE, Ruaridh has managed one of the competition venues and athletes village in the Commonwealth Games and ran an organic coffee roastery and several coffee shops in Brighton. He has also developed a successful mobile bar business, focusing on fresh cocktails and high-end service for weddings, private parties and corporate events, so needless to say he will be taking full advantage of his skill set during this year’s staff training. In his spare time, he’s looking to take after Tom and train to take part in the ski touring race Patrouille des Glaciers in 2024. This winter, he’s most looking forward to spending precious time on the Moulins beginners slope sledging with his one year old daughter, who is aptly named Winter!
